‘The Walking Dead’ season 7: Latest teaser delivers a message
Sunday, February 12 is a date that you probably have marked on your calendar already if you’re a “Walking Dead” fan. That’s when after your annual terribly-long delay, the show will return with new episodes. There are eight more to go, and with the show ending the first half of the season on a surprisingly-inspirational note, you’ve got a lot to look forward to as we press onward.
The latest teaser below was released earlier today by AMC, and it keeps the message pretty simple: “Rise Up.” Rick Grimes made the decision to fight Negan in the winter finale, and that message is echoed strong in this as you see the focus on him, Michonne, and Daryl as they start to prepare for the battle of their lives. This is a mission that will take time and effort to pull off, and it’ll involve multiple communities, intense strategy, and also plenty of bloodshed. (Would it really be “The Walking Dead” without that?)
Judging from some early previews that have been put out into the world already, it also certainly seems as though we’re going to be seeing more of the characters within the world together after seeing them spend such a lengthy amount of time apart dealing with many individual battles. They clearly have a common enemy now, and the motivation to pull off the coup. They just gotta figure out the means.
Beyond this preview, what we’re the most excited about in the second half of the season is the secrecy of it all. AMC’s done a pretty tremendous job of keeping the finer details under wraps, really to the point that it’s hard to know who is turning up and who is going to be causing trouble at any given time. We know that we’re building towards a revolution, but beyond that it’s still unclear how we’re getting to point A to point B. Heck, at the moment it’s not even clear if we will actually get to point B.
