This ‘Dancing with the Stars’ – Blake Shelton rumor is the strangest one yet

Dancing with the Stars

We’re certainly very familiar at this point with some of the rumors that get started with “Dancing with the Stars,” and ultimately just how commonplace so many of them are.

Even with all of this being said, the following one still somehow takes the cake as one of the most ridiculous: The idea of Blake Shelton actually joining an upcoming season of the ABC show. The “rumors” of this happening stem mostly from a Celebrity Dirty Laundry report that makes it sounds like if there was a reason why Blake would turn down the show (Cheryl Burke reportedly wants him to do it), it would be because of his relationship with Gwen Stefani.

Well, that’s ridiculous, especially since it insinuates that Gwen is somehow so insecure that she would not be okay with her boyfriend dancing with someone else in a competitive reality show.

If there was an actual reason why Blake won’t be doing the show now or potentially ever, it would be twofold:

1. Blake has zero reason to do the show. Not to bag on the participants of the series, but he’s at another threshold of fame. There’s nothing that would come from him doing this that would be remotely beneficial to his career.

2. Blake is on another show in “The Voice” that is competing directly against it. There is ZERO reason to think that he would ever have the time to do the show, unless he clones himself and suddenly you have Robo-Blake judging the singing show during the live rounds. Also, NBC has him bound by contract to avoid doing things that would serve as him helping a rival network in this capacity. All major TV stars have this somewhere within the contracts; after all, they do have to protect themselves to a certain degree.

So anyway, you can go bury this rumor somewhere that many other terrible rumors are, and we’ll be back in due time to discuss some matters that are a little bit more legitimate. The ballroom competition is not even close to being done with some of its casting just yet, and won’t be for a rather long time.
