‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 7, episode 14 preview: McGarrett’s driving test; a complicated case

Hawaii-Five-0

While there are a few programs going off the air tonight, whether it be for the Inauguration or other reasons, we do come bearing some good news: You’ve still got a chance to check out a new installment of “Hawaii Five-0.” There’s going to be a serious case at the center of the hour, but rest assured that at the same time, you’re also going to get a chance to see a little bit of fun courtesy of McGarrett and Danny.

Let’s start this article by looking at one of the sillier stories we’ve seen in some time: Steve having to take a road test, given that he apparently has not renewed his driver’s license since returning from active duty. We’ve certainly seen this guy do many questionable things while driving around, and in this preview Danny is quick to point out every single one of them to the instructor before they hit the road. It’s almost the perfect example of Danny’s ability to completely troll his partner and get under his skin. We’re 100% certain that Steve does not appreciate any part of this, but at the same time, we absolutely know that we do.

Also, we feel like Steve’s going to find a way to stumble through passing this test, so there probably isn’t anything to worry about.

As for the second preview that we’ve got for you below, this one focuses for the most part on what appears to be the case of the week: A recent-released prisoner who, upon being accused of a murder, flees to sovereign land owned by the Nation of Hawaii in hopes of getting asylum. He realizes how bad things look for him, but he insists to Chin that he didn’t have anything to do with this crime. After all, in his own words he didn’t have any ill will towards the victim, even though this guy was able to avoid prison while he, his former partner, had to stay behind bars for seven years.

Given that we know that Lou Diamond Phillips is eventually going to surface as Lincoln, a U.S. Marshal intent on bringing him back, this is not going to go all that well for him. Let’s hope that he actually is innocent of what he’s being charged with.
