‘This Is Us’ episode 13 preview: ‘Three Sentences’ puts focus back on Jack, Kate, and the kids
While Tuesday night’s new episode of “This Is Us” should feel like the same show that you’ve come to enjoy over the past several months, at the same exact time there are going to be a few reasons in which it stands out from the mold. For one, you’re going to see much of the focus put on some supporting characters like Dr. K rather than the main cast, as you start to see the day of the big birth from some additional perspectives.
As you do move into the next installment entitled “Three Sentences” airing in one week’s time, what you could find here is an opportunity to see some of the focus shifted about once again. We’re going back to some familiar faces, and we’re also doing more of the signature time jumps between the past and the present. On the surface, some of the details surrounding these shows do not appear to be earth-shattering, but the real beauty of this story comes in how they find a way to make even the ordinary into something powerful, such as events at a child’s birthday party.
Synopsis – “Jack and Rebecca get in over their heads when they decide to throw Kate, Kevin and Randall three separate parties for their 10th birthday. Randall struggles to make time for William as things intensify at the office. Kevin makes a major decision in his romantic life. Kate’s gastric bypass journey takes an unexpected turn.”
By the end of this story, we’re going to get a chance to see hopefully a few more answers and updates — and also potentially a setup for the final episodes of the season. The path for “This Is Us” is different than most, given that we’re going to be at the end of the road for this show by the time we make it to the month of March. There are no major hiatuses coming, and we’re just going to get one great story after the next until we roll around to the end of the road.
Promo – “What if we had another kid?” is just one of many questions that is asked below, as there are some key decisions that will be made coming up. William is going to look to start parts of his life anew, Jack will suggest expanding the family, and Kate will see if she can find some healing in a different sort of environment than she’s used to.
