‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 14 preview: Is a sinkhole set to threaten Los Angeles?

SCORPIONAt this point on “Scorpion,” we’ve seen the team basically confront almost anything and everything under the sun. They’ve dealt with animal problems, tar pits, and even an election that was threatened earlier this fall. What’s another sinkhole standing in their way really?

Okay, we do submit that this is probably a pretty big deal still … and with that in mind, we are very much interested in seeing what’s going to be coming up on the next new episode! What we know is that the title for this hour is “The Hole Truth,” and things are going to take a turn for the worse in a rather short amount of time for the team as they realizing that they are not exactly facing off against your ordinary sinkhole.

Synopsis – “Team Scorpion must save a man teetering on the edge of a massive sink hole that threatens to destroy the Los Angeles water supply forever.”

CBS is not giving you a whole lot of information for this episode beyond what the stakes for it are, but we can go ahead and confirm that Lea Thompson will be baking her fourth appearance of the season as Paige’s mom Veronica. We definitely consider it a blessing to have this many sightings of her on the show, given that it’s not something we were expecting at all when she was first cast. She’s been fun, dynamic, and we do think that she’s starting to get through to her daughter — but there’s still that dangerous feeling that her past could come back to haunt her.

Promo – Will we continue to see Happy and Toby plan their wedding, and will Veronica start to see people come after her after her face was plastered everywhere on the news? Both are good questions, but neither are fully explored in this preview. Instead, it hypes up more of the drama surrounding the sinkhole, and precisely what would happen to the entire city in the event that it swallows up a silo. This is going to be one of those high-science missions where the team has to get creative, and think quickly, if they want to make something happen to keep everyone safe.
