‘Timeless’ spoilers: ‘Supernatural’ star Misha Collins cast as Eliot Ness

Timeless -It doesn’t feel like too long ago when we first lobbied to get Misha Collins in an episode of”Timeless,” even if it felt unlikely given that he was a regular over on “Supernatural” and may not have the time. There were still two things that suggested that such a move could be possible: Both shows film in Vancouver, and “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke is an executive producer on the NBC show.

Luckily, dreams do come true — or at least this one did. In a new post on Twitter, Collins himself confirmed that he will be appearing on “Timeless” for an episode later this season (it will be episode 15, the penultimate one of the series) playing famed American Prohibition agent Eliot Ness. Ness is famous of being one of the Untouchables, and being a part of a group intent on taking out the likes of Al Capone and many other gangsters during the era. He’s specifically known as one of the most prolific crime-fighters in American history.

Beyond the “Supernatural” connection, Collins feels perfect in the role. He can take on some of the steely-eyed determination and charm “Timeless” probably wants for the role. Plus, he comes with a fanbase and he’s already got an affinity for long coats.

As for how Ness factors into the story of the show, that remains to be seen — though the assumption here is that Garcia Flynn will probably be in the era of Al Capone working on some of his latest machinations, and it will be up to the ragtag team of Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus to try to stop him. Interestingly, this is the second episode coming up to feature the city of Chicago prominently, given that tonight’s winter premiere is going to feature the famed Chicago World’s Fair, and then also the likes of H.H. Holmes and Harry Houdini. Given that Flynn currently has Lucy in his possession, Wyatt and Rufus should be all the more motivated to get their friend and fellow time-traveler back.

Here’s an interesting fun fact before we tie this article up — “Supernatural” has itself featured iterations of both Holmes and Ness at various points in its run.
