‘Girl Meets World’ season 3 finale photo: Morgan Matthews is here!
As we’ve mentioned on several different occasions now, one of the things that is going to make the “Girl Meets World” season 3 finale pop on Friday night is the presence of many different familiar faces from both this show and also “Boy Meets World” before it.
To us, one of the most interesting additions by far is the presence of one Morgan Matthews on the show for “Girl Meets Goodbye,” given that technically there are two different iterations of the character. Lily Nicksay and Lindsay Ridgeway each played Cory Matthews’ sister over the course of the show’s run, and both are slated to premiere in this final episode. How they are both included remains to be seen, but that should be a big part of the fun of the story. (The photo above comes via Entertainment Weekly.)
The story of “Girl Meets Goodbye” is effectively simple — Cory and Topanga are facing a critical decision that will impact the future of their family forever, so as a result of that, they need to look over all of their potential options. As a result of that they will be looking for advice from just about everyone close to them. We envision that there are going to be fun moments aplenty that come from seeing some of these old faces — we just wish that they would have more time rather than just small cameos here.
As for the reason why we are not specifically labeling these articles too heavy as the “series finale,” there are still discussions happening in some places to keep the show alive. While these are very preliminary conversations, you don’t want to give the sense that all hope is lost on the show continuing. Netflix still seems like a viable option, and there could be other streaming outlets or networks who are interested in picking the show up. Just don’t expect immediate resolution on this matter come the day of the finale. These conversations are things that take time, as there are so many different moving parts and players in them from the provider to the studio to the cast and producers.
Even if there are no other episodes of “Girl Meets World” coming on the air, at the very least we hope that this episode will be the emotional conclusion so many viewers are hoping for.
