‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ episode 5 preview: Jon Lovitz ‘bribes’ Warren Buffett

Lovitz -

Even though the new season of “The Celebrity Apprentice” may not be pulling in monster ratings, at the same time it is doing a lot of great stuff we appreciate, from its ridiculous entertainment value to figuring out a way to consistently bring in notable people for its advisers. It is rather fun, after all, to get some opportunities to see people who are both enormously successful, but also notable to the mainstream public. Earlier this season, we had Tyra Branks and on Monday night, we’re getting Warren Buffett.

The famed billionaire, otherwise known as one of the wealthiest people in the world, is going to be appearing in the midst of a task about See’s Candy. The teams will be tasked with creating a chocolate for his approval, and then select members of each team are going to fly all the way out to Omaha, Nebraska to see him. Given how many people who would probably sell their soul to get even a minute with Buffett, there’s something amazing about this! It’s with that in mind that there is something even more hilarious about Jon Lovitz trying to bribe him with a $5 bill during his interaction with him.

The promo below also highlights the fact that the women have lost three out of the first four tasks this season, and the pressure is really on them now to try and deliver a win or two in order to even out the numbers. To date, we will say that it feels like the men have the stronger overall team; Carson Kressley and Matt Iseman both are looking incredibly strong, Chael Sonnen is a bulldog within the boardroom, and someone like Lovitz could be a darkhorse given his Los Angeles contact list, which could prove valuable in fundraising tasks. (We’ve got it under good authority that there are some that are coming up and we could easily see Lovitz crushing everyone with his numbers).

On the women’s team, we’d say that right now Laila Ali is probably the most dangerous given that she’s the only Project Manager on that side to win a task. We do think that Lisa Leslie’s also been great in the boardroom, but she needs to step up as PM and prove that she’s been treated unfairly by some of the other people on her team. Brooke Burke’s been okay, but she hasn’t really done anything one way or the other yet. There are a few people flying under the radar still and this far into the competition, that’s just not going to cut it.
