‘Blue Bloods’ season 7, episode 12 preview: Frank gives himself a birthday surprise

Blue Bloods season 7What we’ve got for you is something that we really don’t have very often: A sneak peek for “Blue Bloods” that is lighthearted and positive! This is a shot that makes a name for himself being super-dark and serious, so as a result of that, there’s typically not a lot of room for it to touch on things like birthdays or holiday celebrations.

This preview focuses entirely on Frank’s birthday, and it feels like the Reagan family has gotten together with the primary purpose of giving him his cake, allowing him to open his presents, and giving him family time. Yet, the moment that he blows out the candles, Frank has a surprise to everyone: A surprise in the form of really good tickets to a New York Rangers game. Hey, it makes some sense that this is something that he’d want to to. It’s a chance to immerse himself in something other than a case for a change.

While this sneak peeks ends on a happy note, we’re not so oblivious as to what this show is. With that, odds are that on their way to the game someone sees a crime taking place that only they can help stop. If everything went according to plan, this really wouldn’t be the same show that we know so well!

While it’s not mentioned here, we do want to give you Jamie / Eddie fans out there a reminder that this is an episode that will focus a little bit more on their relationship. If you watch this show hoping for a romance between the two, this is an episode you can’t missed. We’re honestly surprised that CBS isn’t promoting that more since it’s one of the few stories that lasts longer than a single episode.

Do you find this sneak peek to be a nice change of pace, and what else do you think is going to be coming up in this episode? Let us know now in the comments!
