‘Vikings’ season 4, episode 18 preview: ‘Revenge’ says it all

Vikings -

Sometimes, we’re able to look at upcoming episodes of “Vikings” with a good bit of advance information. Other times, we’re largely in the dark.

While there may not be much out there in the way of a synopsis right now for this episode, at the same exact time you don’t need to know much when you just look at the title alone: “Revenge.” Doesn’t that speak for itself? Just connect the dots here. Ragnar was killed, and Ivar’s working with his brothers in order to build an army. He wants vengeance, and maybe this episode is going to be offering up a chance for him to get it.

What does excite us about this concept is that it would continue the tradition of the show moving at a rather-brisk pace. Ever since we jumped forward in time, it feels like we’ve covered a lot of ground. We witnessed the death of Ragnar and already seen the beginning of the “rebuilding effort” (if you want to call it that). Who wants to imagine everything that the show’s going to do before we get around to the end of the season?

Of course, we don’t think that the show’s going to roll out everything in terms of Viking history in the near future, just because we’ve already got a season 5 on tap. Beyond that, who knows? The picture is not entirely clear, but there are still more than twenty episodes still to go. Given that “Revenge” is coming, it’s probably fair to assume that there is going to be a lot of bloodshed to go along with it.

Promo – Now that we’ve seen the video below, “bloodshed” may be putting things lightly. This makes it clear that one of the biggest battles in the history of the show is coming up in the immediate future, and this could be one that leaves your hair standing on end. The main bummer here is that the video’s length is deceptively long. About ten seconds into it, it transitions over into promoting the upcoming miniseries “SIX.”
