Is Gus Fring on ‘Better Call Saul’ season 3? New Los Pollos Hermanos commercial suggests so

Better Call Saul season 3As if you needed another reason to be excited about the upcoming third season of “Better Call Saul,” we now give you this: Evidence that STRONGLY suggests that we are going to be seeing a whole lot more of a certain Gus Fring! He was a fan favorite on “Breaking Bad” as the unassuming evil mastermind that he was and has been someone that viewers having been rallying to see make an appearance on  “Better Call Saul”.

Yesterday, a mysterious commercial for Los Pollos Hermanos hit the internet, and it is one that features Giancarlo Esposito front and center as the man in charge of this friendly fried-chicken empire. Of course, anyone who has watched “Breaking Bad” knows already that the chicken joint is ultimately just an elaborate cover for Gus Fring’s vast criminal operation. He was the Big Bad of season 4, arguably the strongest season of the AMC show, and he was absolutely brilliant to watch.

So to see Gus smile in this commercial while telling customers to come down to his friendly fast-food joint freaks us out … while also having us be incredibly excited for everything that could be coming up next on the show. We’ve been waiting for the better part of the past two years for him to show up; given his ties to Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) in addition to Jimmy McGill a.k.a. Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), it was really only a matter of time before he popped up. At the end of the season 2 finale, we saw the biggest clue yet courtesy of a mysterious note Mike received with one word scribbled across it: “DON’T.”

Now, the waiting for “Better Call Saul” season 3 is probably going to feel even longer than it did previously. As of right now, it is our expectation that we are going to be seeing the series return with all-new episodes once more when we roll around to spring. We’re just waiting for AMC to be kind to us and actually hand down a few more tangible details.
