‘Bones’ season 12, episode 3 preview: ‘The New Tricks in the Old Dogs’

Bones -As we get further and further along into the final season of “Bones,” we imagine that there are specifically going to be a number of key themes and discussions points brought to the table. Personally, we expect legacy to be near the top of the list. What are you leaving behind to the rest of the world? While none of these characters are (hopefully) dying anytime soon, you do have to start thinking about future generations, your life down the line, and the sort of impact that you hope you have on other people. There’s no better time to talk about these things than the final stretch of new episodes.

With this in mind, we come to you right now bearing the gift of some of the first details for “The New Tricks in the Old Dogs, which is the title for the next new episode of the show that is going to be coming your way in just seven days’ time. We figure that this story will be in some ways fun, while in others serious since you do have a possible murder case to resolve at the center of it. It’s something that cannot be forgotten about in the midst of all the reflection and character-stories.

Synopsis – “When the body of an old man is found in an acid dump site, the team becomes enmeshed in retirement home drama. As they explore the case, talk of marriage and kids begins to dominate the conversation back at the lab.”

We will admit that the first time we saw that title, we were hoping that this would be an episode with a ton of dogs in it, if for no other reason than to have an extended version of a cute puppy video. We’ll have to see if that’s something we end up seeing in the promo.

Promo – There’s not too much made about the case in this promo, other than a comedic sequence where a search for a murder weapon makes everyone go a little bit out of control. Given that we’re talking about a senior citizen here, how many possibilities are there?
