‘Gotham’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Justified’ alum set to be man with Bruce Wayne connection

Gotham -If you’re a fan of “Gotham” on Fox, we certainly understand at the moment if you’re hurting for new episodes. The show’s been on hiatus since December, but rest assured that Monday’s winter premiere is right around the corner! Hopefully, it will prove to be worth the wait, even if the upcoming arc of just a few episodes is fairly short before the show then goes off the air again.

What we have for you today is some of the latest news in regards to casting. According to a report coming in right now via Deadline, Raymond J. Barry (“Justified,” “The 100”) is set to appear on the show as a mysterious temple shaman, a man who is rather wise and rather skilled, but at the same time under a heavy cloak of mystery. His intentions for one Bruce Wayne are clear, and that is to help him unlock all of the secret potential of his mind. This feels almost like one of those cult leaders who leads some sort of retreat in the hills of California, almost as though he is one of the people Don Draper ran into near the end of “Mad Men.”

Once we actually see him on the show, however, we know that he is going to be far more sinister than any of those peaceful cult leaders. You see, this man could have some unspoken intentions for Bruce that are far from benevolent, and this will play out over the course of the arc. For us as a viewer, the idea of this is rather exciting; for Bruce and those close to him, however, it could be rather terrifying given that his ideals of purpose and vengeance could be used for someone else’s gain.

Ultimately, this feels like the story that gets Bruce a little bit closer to becoming Batman, but not all of the way since there are still so many other things that the character will have to learn over time before he gets to the point of donning the cowl.
