Unfortunately, there is yet again no new episode of “Timeless” airing on NBC tonight, but here’s the good news — there’s only one more week to go! The show is going to be returning on January 16 with an episode that will bring us to Chicago and the World’s Fair, but if you want to have an opportunity to reflect on what got us to this point, we have an opportunity for you to do that courtesy of the video below.
In this video, you see what is effectively a stylized journey through the first ten episodes of the show to date, starting with the pilot and carrying through to “Space Race,” the adventures with Bonnie and Clyde, and then the story of Benedict Arnold and meeting David Rittenhouse in the midseason finale. (There is one very clear time mistake in the video if you watch for it, but we understand that there’s probably a lot of pressure to turn things around quickly so we won’t come down too hard on it.)
So where are we picking things up? At present, we know that Garcia Flynn as Lucy Preston in his possession, and he clearly still wants to ensure that his vision of the future is the one that comes to fruition. Maybe he feels as though having Lucy to help him attain that is the right way for him to go, or maybe he just realizes that allow her to be able to follow him around is a terrible move, given that she’ll always be one of the “meddling kids,” to use the famous “Scooby-Doo” line.
Here’s the problem for Flynn: In taking Lucy, he all but ensures that Rufus and Wyatt are going to come for him harder than ever. This is something we’ll be seeing over the coming episodes, and he’ll have to scramble to ensure that he gets away. Regardless of how all of this ends, all indications suggest that it will be absolutely entertaining to watch.
