‘The Walking Dead’ season 7: New poster features empty grave

Grave -With the second part of “The Walking Dead” season 7 premiering on Sunday, February 12, AMC is now taking it upon them to share a few pieces of promotional material here and there — beginning of course with the (ominous) key art above.

There are some other images that the show has put out there, but some of them are of random things like cantaloupes and bicycles, and we really don’t know what is going on with many of them. For this one, we’ve got a pretty clear sense that somebody’s probably going to be dumped in that grave. It shouldn’t be a shock given that death is a natural part of life, and on this show, it happens at an accelerated pace.

The only thing that we do have to wonder with this and many of the other images that we’ve seen is whether or not they were released because they are emblematic of something that is actually going to happen, or if they were just chosen simply because they look cool. At the moment, we feel like both of these theories are understandable and could be applied. After all, the images do look cool, but at the same exact time it’d be somewhat frustrating to get something like this only to then have nobody else die.

The stakes entering the second half of the season are abundantly clear: The group will be more unified following the events of the past several episodes, and Rick Grimes will find himself now in a position where he is ready to fight. Will this mean trying to unify many of the local communities with the common goal of thwarting Negan? That seems to be the goal for now, since with him around, all it will likely do is cause further fear and turmoil.
