After having to wait for a rather-long time for new episodes to air on NBC, the good news for all fans of “Blindspot” is clear: The show is coming back tonight! Whether it be the struggles with Roman and unraveling many of the show’s biggest mysteries, there is a lot in the way of drama for the writers to take on moving forward.
With that being said, one of the biggest question marks moving forward into the future is what is going to happen with Patterson, who was put into a terrible place by Borden and threatened with her life. We don’t get the sense that this is a show that will protect her just for the sake of doing so; if she does make it through, that doesn’t mean that she is going to be okay and act as though nothing happened.
In setting up this episode and story further in a pre-show interview with TV Guide, executive producer Martin Gero had the following to say:
“Patterson (Ashley Johnson) is in a lot of trouble, she’s in more trouble than I think anyone thought we would put her in. She’s going to need the team more than she ever has in this episode. It’s one thing for someone to be in trouble, but now it’s Patterson, and all of America loves Patterson! It’s must-see viewing.”
Gero also made it clear that at some point this season, you are going to learn the specifics behind the history that Weller has with Sandstorm. Therefore, the show really is not changing things up when it comes to waiting on lifting the veil with some of their stories. They’re resolving stories fairly quickly, and then moving on to some other things. We’d much prefer that than doing something that would draw things out forever.
