‘Homeland’ season 6 spoilers: Problems for the new President-elect

Homeland -They say that sometimes art imitates life, and for its upcoming sixth season, it definitely appears that “Homeland” is not afraid of having that be the case. After all, just look at how much they are focusing on the President-elect for much of their storytelling this time around. They are acutely aware of Donald Trump’s dominance in the news cycle, and while they are not looking to do a straight-up parody with their take on the office, their character of President-elect Keane is going to have a lion’s share of problems.

Specifically, one of them is that she may not be altogether eager to spill the beans on all of the skeletons that are in her closet. Per a report from SpoilerTV, the upcoming second episode of this season entitled “The Man in the Basement” is going to reveal just how much Saul and Dar Adal are growing suspicious of information that Keane may be keeping from them. We have to think that this is something that they will in turn want to do some of their own digging on, mostly because we know these guys and how they will more than likely not stop until they start to get some more of the answers that they so seek.

As for some other teases for what you can expect over the course of the episode…

1. Be ready to see more struggles on the part of one Peter Quinn as he tries to adjust to his new life, whatever that said new life may be. Given what he went through in terms of him almost dying, it’s rather difficult to imagine him being in a position now where he can sprout back to the man he once was as though nothing ever happened to him. The writers do often try to enforce a certain degree of realism here.

2. Carrie will work hard in part to fight for one of her clients. She is working now for a firm intent on protecting Muslim people; it is valuable work, and also very different work than anything that she’s done on the series to date.
