Golden Globes 2017: Will Tom Hiddleston, Riz Ahmed, or Courtney B. Vance win Actor in a Limited Series / Movie?

There are some really fantastic categories throughout the Golden Globes this year, but we do have to say by and large that the Actor in a Limited Series / TV Movie one is among the best. We legitimately feel like in another year, we could envision more or less any person within this group walking away with the trophy.

Yet, this is just the way things go sometimes — you get a really packed category, and somehow, one person has to emerge from the group. We do think that there is a favorite, but we’ll see what the competition to this person is ultimately like. After we share them, we want to hear from you below! Vote on who you think is the most-deserving winner, and we’ll share some of those results in an article on January 8, the morning before the show airs on NBC.

The nominees

Riz Ahmed, “The Night Of” (HBO)

Bryan Cranston, “All the Way” (HBO)

Tom Hiddleston, “The Night Manager” (AMC)

John Turturro, “The Night Of” (HBO)

Courtney B. Vance, “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” (FX)

Who will win – Of this group, you’ve got to look first and foremost at prior wins to be the main determining factor. Vance has cleaned up at the other awards shows, so anything otherwise would be a shocker. Still, there’s a little drama here in that this is the first time we’ve really seen him go up against Ahmed or Turturro, who were on ironically another critically-acclaimed series about a criminal trial. There’s a reasonable chance that they split some votes, and that could end up helping him out further.

The one thing that could shake up this race even beyond just the newcomers is recency. How many voters will keep “The People v. OJ Simpson” fresh in mind almost a year after it originally aired?

Who should win – We do think that Vance is the rightfully winner just because of the powerful way that he embodied Johnnie Cochran, a complicated man at the center of one of the most notorious murder trials in human history. We would say that for us, Ahmed and Turturro are a very close second and third, and then Cranston and Hiddleston are almost tied for fourth. It’s crazy to even say that given that the two parties were so good.
