‘NCIS’ season 14, episode 11 video: Operation Willoughby and the danger of death

Come Tuesday night, “NCIS” will be back on the air with new episodes; based on the first promo for “Willoughby” below, it certainly looks as though the series is ready to start things off with a bang.

In the promo below, you can see a first look at the upcoming episode, which features a special operation that could put one agent in jeopardy. Is it a familiar face? The promo doesn’t necessarily make that abundantly clear, but it is clearly something that is causing a great deal of concern for Gibbs judging from the look on his face at the end.

Aside from the threat of danger, we also know that this episode will also give you a further chance to see Bishop and her new boyfriend Qasim working together in some capacity. We only learned earlier in this season that the two were in a relationship, so this episode should provide us with a golden opportunity to see how they function in this particular dynamic. We imagine that it will be extremely high-stress, but by the end of it, we could get a good sense of how prepared these two are to continue to work together moving forward should they get the opportunity.

“NCIS” over the years has shown a willingness to use the first episode of the year to launch a larger story, one that pops up on and off over the months ahead. Let’s see whether or not that turns out to be the case here, but we’re excited to watch all of this unfold. If nothing else, the new year should breed opportunities for us to get to know many of the new characters better, which could prove valuable given that we’re still in a getting-to-know-you phase with many of them.
