While there may be many things that you can say about Honey G, one that is hard to deny at this particular moment is that she’s ambitious. She’s a fighter, and based on everything that we’re seeing at the moment, she is someone who’s going to keep fighting until she gets precisely what it is that she wants.
As for whether or not she gets it, that’s an entirely different story.
Speaking as a part of a new interview with Digital Spy, the “X Factor” alum said that there are already ideas out there to a follow-up to her first single “The Honey G Show,” even if there is no guarantee at the moment that we’re actually going to see that happen:
“Believe it or not, one of the Syco producers has already written a second single and wants to release it in the New Year which is amazing.
“I have the backing of Syco and hopefully this will help in my next step in negotiating a record deal with them.
“What I want to do is negotiate a deal. We want to make it happen. I don’t think there is a specific timescale – I think they are allowed to make two singles with me, and then if they make a third, they have to make an album.”
We do not think that there is any real question of “belief” here when it comes to Honey G, since we do honestly believe that there is another single idea out there. We’re just not sure it will happen given that there is a very good shot that her debut track lands outside of the top 40. There is a certain novelty to her performances and something that makes some people out there really happy, but it’s a very small subset of people. It’s hard to see this ever becoming mainstream, and the odds of a second single don’t feel astronomically high unless there is supreme confidence that this one will be a hit.
