Remember when Camille Grammer was a full-time cast member on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” while also involved in one of the nastier divorce battles that we’ve seen on the show? In some ways, it does feel like forever ago.
Yet, in one form or another the specter of Camille is going to rise again next week thanks to an event that’s taking place at her house — basically, it’s a lunch, but in true show fashion anytime that you’ve got something that is meant to be fun and happy, it tends to go down in flames courtesy of some various arguments that are brewing from a couple of episodes before.
Synopsis (via TV Guide) – “Female rejuvenation is the topic for Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle and a plastic surgeon. Also: Lisa Rinna and Erika meet Eden, daughter of hairstyling luminary Vidal Sassoon; Dorit hosts a dinner bash; and tensions rise at a luncheon at Camille Grammer’s house.”
Just in looking at this alone, though, it does appear that there are a pretty wide array of interesting stories that we’re going to be seeing in terms of balance — you’ve got some of the trademark silly stuff, a ridiculously wealthy person turning up in Eden, and then everything culminating with people screaming at each other. Even though we do think that much of this show is effectively the same sort of thing structurally week in and week out, it seems to work for them and they continue to get rather big ratings. Personally, we love the show when they are focusing on the glamour of it all, but many love the drama – there’s something for everyone here.
As for whether or not we could ever imagine Grammer becoming a full-fledged cast member, at the moment we’d say it’s doubtful. Yet, at the same time we’ve learned that it is better to take a never-say-never approach to this show or any in the franchise.
