‘Supernatural’ season 12 and the morality at stake

Supernatural -

The twelfth season of “Supernatural” is on hiatus on The CW, and there are still many stories that we know to be coming up. For example, there are seemingly several big stories in the weeks ahead when it comes to Castiel, and we also have to assume that there are going to be a further assortment of opportunities to be able to see Mary Winchester. There’s also the aftermath to the whole story right now with Lucifer and the government, which has the brothers in Sam and Dean locked up.

Eventually, one other part of the story in the British Men of Letters are going to reenter the picture, and they’re going to have more interesting things to say in the wake of everything that’s been going on. The group also could lead to some discussion when it comes to how exactly to go about things as a hunter. Should you try to seek out ways to help the most people, even when it means the death of a few, or simply trying to pursue the option that tries to ensure that nobody dies at all? It’s the age old dilemma of how to be the best hero, and this is one that exists across many different CW shows at the moment — even beyond this one.

So in previewing further some of what is going to be coming up here to TVLine, executive producer Andrew Dabb handed down the following message:

“Because the truth is, even if you disagree with their methods – and Sam and Dean certainly will in some cases – they get results. So that becomes the bigger punch [in the second half of the season]: Do the ends justify the means? And if so, what means are our guys willing to tolerate?”

Given that these guys have fought various monsters for the entirety of the series, it’s hard to imagine that they would welcome a chance at this point in how to go about doing things; yet, they’ve surprised us before, and if the right situation presents itself, we can envision some times in which we could see a little bit of this doubt starting to creep up if the British Men of Letters are getting results.
