‘The X Factor’ UK: Matt Terry makes return dream clear

Matt Terry -

Matt Terry is getting set to potentially have a big career following his time on “The X Factor,” but he already seems to be plotting his big return to the series — albeit in a different way than how he appeared before.

Speaking in a new interview with the Daily Star, Matt made it clear that one of his plans following his time on the series is to figure out a way to properly give back to the show any way he can in the years to come, especially if that meant working on the series once more as either a guest judge or an adviser during judges’ houses, a role that we’ve seen some other former contestants take on in the past:

“I plan on working extremely hard to be a successful artist, I would love to continue to be involved with X Factor and help future contestants … [Mentor Nicole Scherzinger and I] are so close and after our victory we will remain close and I’ll remain part of the family. We will see what I can do but to be at Judges’ Houses with her would be a dream, I will do what I can to help out.”

Of course, we would be down to see this happen for Matt, though at the same time we contend that he still has a decent amount of work to do in order to get there. He’s not even close to being out of the woods when he comes to maintaining his relevancy — we imagine that he will remain a great performer, but he needs to figure out a way to be a big star and have hit songs and no just be one of these winners who fades fast. Given that many male winners of the show, save for James Arthur, have done that, we figure that this could be even more of an added challenge.

The next order of business for Matt will be taking on the tour in the new year, and we will see precisely what happens from there.
