When will ‘Survivor’ season 34 premiere? Theme rumors and more

SurvivorIn a matter of just an hour or so at the time of this writing, “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” is going to cap off its latest season, and it is one that we’re absolutely going to miss. In terms of pure entertainment, this may very well be one of our favorites, but we won’t know for sure where to place it in our overall rankings until we see the finale and start to cross-compare it to everything else that we’ve seen over the years.

For the same of this article, we want to spend a moment looking ahead to the upcoming 34th season — and it’s amazing in so many ways that we are getting that. There are a ton of rumors out there about what it will contain, with the biggest one being that it has all returning players. There are only a few more hours still to go, so why ruin the fun for it now?

The biggest thing that we can tell you right now is that the new season is going to be premiering on Wednesday, March 8 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, and with what is a two-hour episode to boot. This is a later premiere than usual (CBS is airing their new show “Hunted” on Wednesday night until then), which does make us wonder as to whether or not there will be more double-episodes to make up for this, or if we will end up seeing the show finish up the season outside of the May sweeps for the first time since its early days.

There will be much more to report on with the show once we get to the reunion show tonight, but the biggest thing that we’re wondering at the moment is what the plans are beyond this season (yep, we’re thinking that far ahead already). We hope season 35 will be all newbies again, while season 36 could easily be a new “Fans vs. Favorites” since that is what they’ve done both in season 16 and season 26. (Personally, we’d be fine if we never had one of those ever again — no half-measures on the returnee seasons!)

As per usual, head over here now if you want to get some other news pertaining to the “Survivor” finale right away. We’ll have more news coming in your direction later in the evening. (Photo: CBS.)
