‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’ finale video: Fake idol plans and winner debates
The finale for “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” is coming to CBS on Wednesday night, and in leading off much of our coverage for the next several days, it does feel as though there is one extremely-fitting question worth asking: Are we really looking at a situation where anyone can win?
Earlier this season, we did feel as though the answer to that question was a “yes,” but we are starting to think a little bit more as though there are a limited number of candidates to take home the title. For example, it’s difficult to see many combinations of players in which either Bret or Ken could win. One’s been great at the social game, whereas another has won some challenges; the problem is that based on what we’ve seen on the show and heard from the other players, neither has been enough of the driving force in terms of strategy. Bret was front and center for some amazing TV moments, including his conversation with Zeke, but other than talking to Adam at the start of this past season, there may not be enough of a strategic resume.
As for Ken, just look at his conversation from this past episode with Will in order to see what perception of him in the game may be. It’s hard to imagine anyone wanting to reward someone who made it so hard for people to earn trust with him.
This leaves us with four other contenders in David, Jay, Adam, and Hannah, and they are all pretty prominently featured in this promo. Hannah’s probably the least likely to win of the four, but we think she can pull it off if she makes it to the end with Bret and Ken — as impossible of a configuration as that seems. This preview reminds us that with some of these remaining players, they are going to do everything that they can in order to make it through to the next round. For David, this could include him making a fake idol; meanwhile, for Jay it could mean continuing to put it all on the line at the challenges, which he could win from here on out on his way to the finale.
We’re not sure when was the last time we were this excited for a finale, but with so many different possibilities, this could end up being one of the greatest conclusions to a season we’ve had in some time.
