‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2, episode 8 video: The Atom versus … Al Capone?

Legion of Doom -

The winter finale of “Legends of Tomorrow” Thursday night is going to be moving back in time to the age of the great gangsters in Chicago, and what that means more than anything else is that there are some exciting times ahead! We’re going to have a chance to see our heroes battle against the Legion of Doom at some point, but before we get around to that, there are some other orders of business that will need to be attended to — namely, we’re talking about taking on some of the locales.

If you enjoy this series for some of the group fight scenes (that really is what the show’s known for at this point), odds are that you’re going to enjoy this one. Personally, seeing Ray Palmer want to go after Al Capone is to us all sorts of entertaining.

Yet, there’s a larger issue at the heart of this preview that is not altogether apparent at first: This entire fight seems to be a trap brought on by some of the bad guys of the season. Eobard Thawne is responsible for bringing Damien Darhk back to the era, and apparently, we’re also now at a point where Malcolm Merlyn is also involved! We knew that he was coming aboard as a villain at some point, and that time appears to be now! We also know that Leonard Snart a.k.a. Captain Cold is also going to be stopping by, but we’re not sure if he will be fully a part of the Legion in this episode or not.

Are expectations high for this episode? We’d certainly say so, given the way that both “The Flash” and “Arrow” ended their own shows this week. We’re really started to get into the golden age of CW superhero shows now; “Arrow” is back in its season 2 form, and even “Legends” is massively on the upswing after an uneven first season. Giving the show a central character like Sara is easily the best decision that they could’ve made.

If you do want to get some other news right now when it comes to “Legends of Tomorrow,” be sure to head over here! We’ll have a full review for the winter finale online a little bit later. (Photo: The CW.)
