Joe Biden discusses Donald Trump, ‘Saturday Night Live,’ more in ‘The Late Show’ interview

Late Show -

Last night, Vice-President Joe Biden made an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” for the first time in over a year, and we do think that the resulting interview was just about everything that you could have wanted and then some. This marked an opportunity to see Biden discuss some of the issues that matter the most to him, while at the same time a few humorous subjects sprinkled in there as well.

From a comedy standpoint, Biden got in a good joke when Colbert asked him whether or not he thought it was live for a potential world leader to be going after Alec Baldwin and “Saturday Night Live” — from there, he went more into discussing a few other matters, including his comments about not wanting to run of President and how he’s leaving it open ever so slightly that he could down the line — even though he doesn’t really see the circumstances where that could happen.

On a more serious note, Biden also took a very particular stance on not only President-elect Trump, but also the idea in general that we spend so much time talking about inflammatory comments that it takes us away from some of the issues. He hopes that this is something that changes in the discourse moving forward.

We don’t want to get into politics on an extreme level here, but we do really enjoy Biden anytime he does an interview on late-night TV. While there are moments that you get the same political soundbytes you get anywhere else, at the same time he does come across as very real and earnest.

Biden’s interview took place before Trump himself called in to “The Today Show” this morning, and then proceeded to bash “SNL” more for the recent quality of their episodes. For more on that, all you have to do is head over here.
