‘Mariah’s World’ reveals her life? Happy birthday Walt Disney, Steve Harvey’s next show

Mariah's World -Even on the weekends the cameras are rolling for TV programs. Walking around the skyscrapers in downtown Los Angeles over the weekend I stumbled upon two blocks where three TV scenes were being filmed. There was a very famous crime drama on the corner shooting a scene on top of a building (the fire department was assisting below). Down the way an alley was cut off from traffic as a famous singer was performing for a new video. Around the corner a car commercial was being filmed. Seven cameras were strapped to the car to cover every angle. There was even a camera on a track connected to the car front to film the driver. All of the unique aspects reminded me of my love of TV and what behind the scenes effort goes into making a perfect production.

Did ‘Mariah’s World’ really reveal her personal life?

As much as I love Mariah Carey’s music, it was tough to watch “Mariah’s World.”  I found myself holding my breath and wondering if this was just a big commercial. I’ve been to her concerts, seen Mariah at events and have heard all the stories. Yet, the show felt a little staged and rolled along like one big commercial. I sure wish this show would have focused more on the woman, the mom and the savvy star. This is an eight-part series so I’m not giving up on it yet. I’m going to be watching again next week!

Steve Harvey has another show? The man never sleeps

If Steve Harvey sleeps, I’d be shocked. The entertainer and host who keeps on giving has another show he’s hosting and it starts on Monday night. “Showtime at the Apollo” is a two-hour special on FOX. The event has an amazing lineup too. It’s great to see that Tracy Morgan is set to perform. This technically might not be a holiday show, but it’s definitely a gift for viewers around the country who need a good laugh!

‘X Factor’ studios are being torn down? Bummer dude

The X Factor” has filmed for the final time at their studio. While the fans were watching the semi-finals, the clock was ticking down as it was the building’s final hours. This was the last show ever to be filmed at the Fountain Studios in Wembley. Sold to a developer, the land will be made into homes. The Fountain Studios has a rich heritage starting in 1928. It’s a bittersweet end to a location that many know in the TV business. Don’t worry about “X Factor” though. There is no doubt the show is going to find a new home for the next season!

And Finally… Happy Birthday Walt Disney!

It’s Walt Disney’s birthday! The genius who created Mickey Mouse, Disneyland and impacted TV in ways he probably never imagined has fans remembering the legend. Celebrating the life of the man and his imagination, fans are talking about his life and reflecting on how, even today, Walt Disney has shaped their lives.  My favorite quote from this amazing guy is always what I reflect on when times get tough.
