We have known for a couple of weeks now that Yvonne Strahovski of “Chuck” fame is going to be playing a major role on “Dexter” season 7 — but now, we know a few more details as to just what this role will be beyond just her name.
Speaking to TV Guide in a new interview, executive producer Sara Colleton explained that it’s possible that her character of Hannah could end up being a love interest for Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan down the road, but that it’s not the focus of her character at the moment:
“She plays this woman named Hannah, who took off from this small rinky-dink Florida town and ran off with this older guy and they went on this wild killing spree. So when they got caught, she turned state’s evidence on the boyfriend, he went to jail for life and she started a new life. Years later, she’s in her 30s and she will intersect with Dexter. I would say Hannah is a still water that runs very deep and is quite unlike any woman Dexter has ever known.”
So how is Hannah introduced into the show? With the news already announced that some of the main storylines are going to revolve around a series of killings at gentleman’s clubs, it’s possible that she is brought in by Miami Metro to help on the case as someone with an experienced eye thanks to her past. While we have no objections to Dexter ultimately developing a relationship with her, our only hope is that it does not come at any sort of expense of a lack of closure with Lumen. The ending of season 5 still leaves an unsatisfactory taste in our mouth, and the only way this will ever change is if we see Julia Stiles again and see where she is in life now.
How do you want to see Strahovski integrated into the show?
