‘Big Brother: Over the Top’ finale: Was Jason Roy or Morgan Willett the winner?

Over the Top -

We’re not going to say that “Big Brother: Over the Top” started off its finale on the best possible note, as there were some clear malfunctions with Julie Chen’s sound. Luckily, soon after that the show started things up, and got rolling as we neared what was probably going to be a contentious ending to an already-contentious season. We don’t know how you can say anything else given all of the in-fighting that has gone on both inside and outside of the house.

Even though there were several unnecessary segments during the first part of the finale, we’ll still say that it was nice to actually have a live show with Julie Chen present and with some sort of actual audience for a change. It felt like we were finally bridging the gap between summer and fall “Big Brother” — there were actually some things that we liked better about this season, including in part some of the characters like a Justin or a Shelby.

Eventually, we got a chance to see all of the previously-evicted houseguests on stage at the same time, but we’re not sure we really learned anything that we didn’t already. Everyone did vote other than Justin, and it was every bit as divided between Jason and Morgan as you would expect. Nobody voted for Kryssie, which was a perfect indication of her game as a whole. She was announced as the third-place finisher, and promptly evicted from the house as a result.

So who won? Here’s your answer: MORGAN WILLETT! She defeated Jason Roy in what may be the most shocking result of the entire season. While we thought she had an outside chance, Jason was the clear favorite going into this. She can now celebrate, and Jason fans are left to think about what went wrong. Our clear response for now is that he hurt himself in ways that he didn’t have to in the game, and his fan support may have actually worked to rally the opposition even further against him.

We’re going to continue to have coverage of all things “Big Brother” over at the link here, so stay tuned for more reaction to the end of the season. (Photo: CBS.)
