It was around this time a week ago that we were starting to get prepared for the “Dancing with the Stars” season 23 finale, and we’re now getting set to turn the page and move forward with another valuable question: When are we going to get a chance to learn the identity of everyone participating next season?
We should start this off by saying that obviously, it’s not going to happen anytime soon. While producers may already be circling a few names here and there that they’d like to have on board, there are certain elements of this casting that are rather spur-of-the-moment. Look at Alek Skarlatos as a great example of them. They like to go with what’s relevant, and likely have a group of people who are a little more timeless and can be pulled into the mix at almost any point of the year.
For a good comparison to when the season 24 cast will be revealed, let’s look back to when the season 22 cast was unveiled: March 8, with the new season premiering a little later in the month. We figure we’ll see something similar here, with the reveal maybe coming a few days earlier given that the season of “The Bachelor,” which airs before it, is starting a few days earlier in the month of January. This likely pushes everything up.
We’ve already detailed some of what we’d like to see on this particular season — while we do think Laurie Hernandez, for example, is amazing, we’d love to see a cast where no one has such an obvious athletic and stylistic advantage going into the season. It’s probably impossible to find a season that is completely evenly-matched, but at the same time you could try to create a little more parity than what we saw here.
