‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: What Saara Aalto, 5 After Midnight, Honey G will sing for Louis Loves week

Saara -We love how “The X Factor” is really trying to make this theme gimmick of “Louis Loves” into something going into this upcoming weekend’s episode, given that for the most part, we’re largely convinced that this is just meant to be a rather-silly way for the show to throw in whatever songs that it wants to. Sure, we do think that Louis probably looked at many of them, given that a lot of them are right into his wheelhouse of being either very dramatic or extremely cheesy.

In addition to the Louis Loves songs, the contestants remaining are also going to be performing one song chosen themselves.

5 After Midnight – “Uptown Funk” (Louis Loves) and “One Dance / Sorry” (own choice) – The group probably has the best songs on the night. Louis’ giving them something current and firmly in their wheelhouse, while we already know that they can perform “One Dance” given that this was their audition song.

Saara Aalto – “The Winner Takes It All” (Louis Loves) and “Diamonds Are Forever / Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” (own choice) – We hope Saara at the very least makes it into the top 4, and there are challenges here. We don’t love Louis giving her an ABBA song that really does nothing for us, and we don’t know what the latter’s going to sound like.

Emily Middlemas – “Toxic” (Louis Loves) and “Human” (own choice) – Emily could probably do a really good version of “Toxic” that is similar to what Alex & Sierra did on the American “X Factor.” We’re actually not that familiar with the latter song from Rag’n’Bone Man, but we listened to it and it sounds grittier and more intense than many of her choices. Should be interesting.

Honey G – “Can’t Touch This / Super Freak” (Louis Loves) and “Push It / Black Beatles” (own choice). Is the first one of these really a mash-up given that one already heavily samples the other? As for the second choice, maybe it’ll be interesting. We’re just running out of gas watching Homey G perform at this point.

Matt Terry – “Secret Love Song, Pt. II” (Louis Loves) and “Alive” (own choice). We’re a little nervous at this point about anyone singing a Syco song (blame what happened to Gifty Louise for that) — even if we do think it’s a good song; the second song is one that he’ll almost certainly dominate out there.
