When could an ‘Amazing Race 29’ cast release happen?

Amazing Race -

At the moment, we absolutely are hurting for some new “Amazing Race” episodes to air on CBS — that’s why we write about the show every Friday! It’s almost as a nice way to substitute the show being on the air, and it makes us all the more excited for when it is actually going to be back.

Unfortuantely, we still don’t know when that is. Our heart hopes to see it back at some point in February or March, but that all comes down to trying to find a place for it. “MacGyver” now has a full-season order, and we don’t see any holes forming on Sundays, Mondays, or Tuesdays at present. We assume that the “Code Black” timeslot will probably go to “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders,” so the only options for scheduling we can think of are either at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays in between “Survivor” seasons (they’re probably need to double-up on some episodes) or on Thursdays after “Pure Genius” ends its run, provided it does not get additional episodes.

Another option? Summer, but we don’t want to think about that too much right now.

Ultimately, there are probably a small group of people even more excited than you are to see the show air, and those are the people who took part. We know that this season did operate with a relatively-unique twist to it, but we’re waiting for that to be confirmed before talking about it here. These racers have been sitting on what happened now for months, and no end is in sight.

In getting back to the question at the start of this article, expect the racer to reveal probably three or so weeks before the premiere. For example, if the Race premieres in January, we could see the teams in early December. If it’s late February, it may be near the end of January before we find out. If it’s summer, we could be stuck waiting until May. There’s no reason for CBS to reveal the cast before the premiere date, since they want to brand all of their press materials with the date the show comes out. That only makes the most sense for them to do.
