‘Blindspot’ season 2, episode 9 (fall finale) preview: Can Jaimie Alexander’s Jane stop an attack?

Jane -Blindspot” returned this week after a World Series hiatus with an episode that could start with some of our key characters having the noblest of intentions, only to see said story culminate in pure chaos.

So where are we going to go from here? Well, the undercover mission of Jane and Weller will have some consequences, and there is a dangerous situation at the center of next week’s installment (also the fall finale for the show) entitled “Why Let Cooler Pasture Deform.” (We gotta say — for people who don’t know that these titles are anagrams, these titles have to be incredibly confusing.) Everything that you’ve seen this fall is about to come to a head.

Synopsis – “After Jane (Jaimie Alexander) discovers that Sandstorm is gearing up for an imminent attack, she risks everything to send a secret SOS to her FBI team.”

As per usual, NBC isn’t giving you a whole lot to go on with this particular tease, but given where Jane is in the story right now, there’s not too much else that they could share without giving too much away. We feel like it’s easier to share longer synopses for shows that are purely procedurals, since you can set up precisely what is happening for each person without letting anything slip that messes up the larger order of things. It’s a little bit harder to do that with this show since everything is so intertwined.

There is a part of us that wants to run away from the whole “no one is safe” mantra, since that is something that networks have used so much over the past few years (and hardly ever actually delivers on that threat) that it pretty much goes in one ear and out the other. Yet, at the same time it’s kind-of true with this show, which is one of the reasons that it works so well. Martin Gero and the writers have shown a willingness to do away with big characters, and as a result of that, you gotta assume that they can and will do so again.

Promo – At the end of this week’s episode, we had Jane getting a warning about phase 2. Would she heed it, or be able to do anything about it? It’s hard to say given that it was almost a recruitment pitch more than anything. This promo doesn’t so much offer up specific information as it does tease one shocker right after another.
