Lady Gaga reportedly going over from ‘American Horror Story’ to ‘American Crime Story’ season 3

Recently, Ryan Murphy took the rather unusual step of announcing the third season of “American Crime Story” even before the second one begins filming, and it will specifically be about the murder of Gianni Versace. “Versace/Cunanan: American Crime Story” is the tentative title, with filming set to begin in the new year.

If we are to believe some of the new reports out there, it also seems as though Murphy already has found one of his most important key players. Per a new report from Us Weekly, Lady Gaga will be appearing on the new project in the role of famed designer Donatella Versace on the show. If this is true, it wouldn’t be a surprise; Murphy is already aware of the physical similarities between the two, and the pop star already has a close friendship with Versace and would have a tremendous resource to understand how to play her better.

While Gaga and “television actor” were not necessarily synonymous a few years ago despite some credits to her name, her collaborations with Murphy have thrust her further to the forefront in this department. She’s appeared now on two seasons of “American Horror Story,” even though her appearances this time around as the original supreme are more few and far between. She’s expressed a willingness to continue working with him, and this would be a natural next step for that. Not only that, but it would mark an interesting change of pace for her after working in a gorier aesthetic for some time.

This news comes out the same day as another notable Murphy crossover; it was also reported that “American Horror Story” star Kathy Bates will be heading over to “Feud,” another anthology series that will be airing potentially in 2017. This one is focused on the fighting between famed actresses Joan Crawford and Bette Davis.
