‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8 spoilers: Paul Wesley teases happy times for Stefan, Caroline

With the season premiere of “The Vampire Diaries” coming to The CW on Friday night, we are pleased to report that not everything is gloom and doom for some of the characters — as a matter of fact, far from it!

While there may be some hardship ahead for Stefan given everything that is going on with his brother Damon, you can rest assured of one thing: There will be some more fireworks and romance when it comes to his relationship with Caroline. As a matter of fact, here’s what Paul Wesley himself had to say on the subject to TV Guide while talking about whether or not there’ll be a lot of romance for him and Candice King’s character in the early going:

“I definitely have to make out with Candice a bunch, so I guess the answer’s yes … They go through these trials and tribulations, but I think they make out a lot, so that’s usually an indication of a good time.”

The premiere is going to revolve in part on figuring out what exactly is going on with Damon and Enzo, but this story does ultimately stretch and become about so much more than that. Specifically, you have to be prepared for a few more surprising twists and turns when it comes to these characters given that there is a Big Bad coming who possesses some incredibly dangerous abilities, and it could cause all of our characters to descend into peril.

Beyond just all that, the biggest thing that we could say as an incentive for some people out there to check out the show live is simply that this does mark a rather exciting opportunity to see more of how the show chooses to tribute so many great years of television, and celebrate winding down to a series finale.
