‘Lucifer’ season 2, episode 3 preview: When social media gets involved

Tonight, “Lucifer” came back with the second episode of the season, one that in turn offered up a few opportunities to see how his mom handled being on earth. Let’s just say that this has not been an easy journey, and she’s still got some work to do.

We could see some of this change play out on the next new episode of the show entitled “Sin-Eater,” which is going to be coming your way in just seven days’ time. The synopsis below offers up a good bit of additional insight into what is coming up next:

“Lucifer and Chloe investigate a gruesome murder after a video of the crime surfaces on social media. When a second video appears, they realize they have a serial killer on their hands. Meanwhile, Lucifer’s mom returns as Charlotte Richards. Also, Amenadiel, struggling with his loss of power, has an appointment with Linda.”

Maybe his mom will be a little more well-adjusted now? That remains to be seen, but at the same time we certainly are looking forward to seeing what this “reinvention” truly means.

Meanwhile, the case-of-the-week itself feels like it could be pretty interesting, mostly because we’re dealing with an old crime TV standby in a different form: Watching a team solve a case where social media is front and center. Given how many people out there do tend to think that social media is the devil, we figure that nothing could be more appropriate for this show.

Now, we just wish that Fox would release promos of a little bit more substance.
