‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: When will Harrison Wells return?

Through much of the offseason for “The Flash,” one of the biggest question marks has, for the second straight season, been the role of Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells. He will not seemingly be a part of the “Flashpoint” storyline, and given that he is from Earth-2, there are only a handful of reasons why he would ever return to Earth-1 Central City. After all, shouldn’t his world have everything that he needs?

Well, here’s the problem: Wells may be coming back for the sake of saving his daughter for the second straight season — albeit from something totally different than the first go-around with Zoom. We’ve got for you below the first details for the upcoming third episode of this season entitled “Magenta,” which is airing on The CW on Tuesday, October 18. It explains that Jesse is now more like Jesse Quick than ever, and it also teases the arrival of Joey King as Magenta, a potentially powerful meta who could be a significant threat:

“Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash are thrilled to reunite with Earth-2 Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Jesse (guest star Violett Beane). Wells confides to Barry and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) that Jesse has all the powers of a speedster and has been saving people on his Earth. He is concerned about her safety and wants them to talk her out of using her powers. Meanwhile, Magenta, (guest star Joey King) a new meta who can control metal, terrorizes the city.”

Before we make it to the end of this episode, hopefully we’ll get a chance to learn if Magenta is someone who could stick around for a while and be a part of a new generation of Rogues — we know that there are some other interesting villains coming, including Mirror Master (Grey Damon) and The Top (Ashley Rickards).
