‘How to Get Away with Murder’ season 3, episode 2 reaction: How will Oliver move forward

HTGAWM -Before the start of Thursday night’s new episode of “How to Get Away with Murder,” we were handed what was effectively the central premise of this season’s cliffhangers: Someone among the core group was going to die, and every week we would learn the identity of one person who made it through alive.

On tonight’s new episode, what we learned was that Oliver will survive! He was seen with Annalise in the flash-forward, proving that he is not the person who will be going away anytime soon. With that, let’s move forward to responding to a different question: What’s next for him and Connor now that they’ve broken up? Are we going to see Oliver dive into dating? This is something that Conrad Ricamora teased further to TVLine in a postmortem interview:

“Oliver and Connor will need to figure out the boundaries in their relationship now that they work together. They knew what they were, but they don’t know what they’re going to be. It’s going to be clunky. They’re going to hit a lot of misunderstandings and hurt feelings along the way, and Oliver will need to figure out who he is as a single person, with a new job and with this diagnosis. What will it all mean as he navigates single-dom — if he chooses to.”

The one thing that could complicate any and all romantic possibilities for this character is the sole fact that Oliver, like every other member of the Keating 5, will be stuffed to the brim dealing with various drama with the job. How is there time to do anything other than stress?
