‘You’re the Worst’ renewed by FXX for season 4

For anyone who loves “You’re the Worst” on FXX, we’re coming now with some news that is certainly the best: FXX has officially ordered a fourth season of the comedy.

The glorious news was announced today in a statement by Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. Here is what Schrier specifically had to say:

“Expertly written, brilliantly acted, You’re the Worst continues to be hilarious and excellent. We’re excited to get Stephen and his team working on next season and thank everyone at You’re the Worst for their outstanding work and the opportunity to keep producing great TV together.”

Meanwhile, executive producer Stephen Falk, who has led the series to its success and critical acclaim to date, had the following to add:

“It is a daily thrill to have You’re the Worst in the same network family as Archer, Fargo, American Crime Story, The Americans, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Better Things, Louie, etc., and while I am currently deep in Post on Season 3 and so, so tired, you guys, I am overjoyed. That FX mysteriously manages to have a crystalline brand identity with such a wide variety of shows is a testament to the extreme talents of John, Eric, Nick, Chuck, John, Nick, Matt, Nicole, Kevin, Kate, Jonathan, Barbara, Stephanie and everyone else. I realize I don’t need to kiss their asses because they’ve already picked up the next season, but it is heartfelt.”

So how long could this series go on for? At this point, we don’t really think that this is a consideration of the show’s ratings. We think ultimately that we could see “You’re the Worst” last for however long the network wants it to — which we’re hoping to be a rather long time.
