‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: Jay Garrick will return

Jay -

Almost from the moment we learned that John Wesley Shipp was going to play the Earth-3 version of Jay Garrick, we wondered what the show had planned for the character. After all, Jay in the comics has ties to the Justice Society of America, and over on “Legends of Tomorrow” this group is going to play a rather-prominent role on the upcoming second season.

So could we see Shipp set sail over to that show at some point in the future? That’s not entirely clear at present, but we certainly hope so. For the time being, the one thing we do know is that we will see the character aboard “The Flash” once more — specifically the upcoming second episode of season 3 entitled “Paradox.” The photo above is proof of that, which serves as a rather-nice reminder that Jay is not going to be gone from this show just because Zoom is gone. Also, it proves that he wasn’t dramatically altered as a result of Flashpoint, which will cause some changes throughout the coming episodes.

To date, the only thing we know for sure Flashpoint results in is the arrival of Julian Dorn (Tom Felton), a new employee with the Central City PD who works in the lab with Barry, and is not exactly friendly with him. The long-term ramifications of this character’s arrival remain unclear, but hopefully he will prove to be an exciting addition who shifts the dynamic of the series in some shape or form.

New episodes start on Tuesday, so hopefully we’ll be getting more answers sooner rather than later!
