‘Arrow’ season 5: Latest promo focuses on new fighters

“Arrow” season 5 is just over a week away from premiering! Who’s excited? We’re starting to be. There’s a time when it still feels like the show is forever away, but we’re starting to get a little closer to actually seeing what comes next for Oliver Queen and company.

The latest promo gives you a further sense of that, since in it we’re getting a focus on the three newest members of the team: Wild Dog, Artemis, and Curtis Holt. Sure, Curtis has technically been a part of the group for part of season 4, but not in a capacity where he is actually out fighting crime. Artemis, meanwhile, is someone we saw briefly last season pretending to be the Black Canary.

We know that there are plenty of people who are down on this idea of Oliver’s Hero Academy, but we do think that this is one of only many stories this season. Felicity and Diggle are going to be a part of the narrative still, but it may take some time in particular to get the latter there. Remember you season 4 ended for a reminder that you cannot just reverse course immediately.

As excited as we are for the premiere, there is still admittedly a part of us looking down the road at what is coming with the 100th episode. Ever since Stephen Amell first shared an image of himself alongside Deathstroke, there have been questions regarding whether or not Manu Bennett is coming back. This is something that Manu himself has shied away from answering in detail, though just one day ago it appeared as though he was in New Zealand.
