‘Dancing with the Stars 23’: Why Erin Andrews is missing this week’s show

DWTS -

Tonight, “Dancing with the Stars” is airing what may be their quickest performance shows ever, mostly because of the fact that they had to be done and over with by the time that the Presidential Debate officially began with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. There is also one other change: Erin Andrews will not be present.

So what is the reason for that? In a post on Twitter, host Tom Bergeron performed in advance that she is spending some time caring for her boyfriend Jarret Stoll, whose nephew recently passed away:

“My pal @ErinAndrews will be absent from @DancingABC this week to support @jarretstoll whose nephew passed away. Sending hugs and condolences.”

Of course, our thoughts also go out to Stoll, Andrews, and everyone else involved in the tragedy.

For those who are wondering, Bergeron also revealed to a follower that there will be a guest co-host for the results show on Tuesday night. This will help to bridge the gap until Andrews returns to the show on the next new episode. That will probably include some more takes on everything that happened over the course of tonight’s performance show, and then also a few more segments and eventually some sort of elimination. By the end of that, we’ll see the field narrowed down once more as we start to get into what we like to think of as the thick of the competition where almost anything can happen. It’ll be nice to have Erin back for that.
