‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ preview: Kelly Dodd gets emotional discussing marriage

What is this, a preview for “The Real Housewives of Orange County” that is actually about important drama?  There are so many times that we’ve talked about the pettiest of things in these episode previews that someone’s marriage being on the line feels like a completely different thing. That’s precisely what is going to be going on with Kelly Dodd, who will be facing a challenge that many other women on the show have over time: Trying to find a way to deal with personal turmoil while also handling the presence of the cameras and also her fellow castmates, who aren’t always so willing to be the most sympathetic people in the world.

The synopsis below gives you a small sense of what Kelly’s going through, while at the same time giving you a quick picture as to what is happening with everyone else:

“Michael and Kelly discuss the ups and downs of their relationship since separating, while Meghan goes to her first ultrasound appointment. Vicki gets asked to film a commercial for a cancer charity. Shannon packs up her old home and gives it a heartfelt “goodbye” while Tamra hosts Kelly, Vicki, and Heather for a day of pampering and luxury at Glen Ivy Spa. Unfortunately, things at the spa aren’t as tranquil as expected when Kelly tearfully opens up about her rocky marriage.”

As for the preview video below, Kelly’s drama is the biggest standout — but there are a few sillier moments in here courtesy of the spa day. Unfortunately, we’re also reminded of the Brooks Ayers drama a.k.a. one of the worst and most-frustrating forms of “entertainment” in the history of the franchise.
