‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4 spoilers: What side is Ghost Rider really on?

SHIELD -When Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” premieres on ABC in a matter of days, one of the aspects of it that will be interesting almost immediately is the arrival of Robbie Reyes a.k.a. Ghost Rider. He’s an iconic character, but on the show, he occupies a little bit of an interesting place. While he’s technically a hero, he does commit actions that sometimes fall within a little bit of a moral gray area.

So how will he be perceived by some of the other characters on the show, in particular SHIELD? Well, let’s just say that they are not going to see him as one of the good guys at all. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, here is what star Clark Gregg had the following to say:

“[To SHIELD he is] a different kind of threat than anything we’ve faced before … It introduces a part of the Marvel world that deals more with strange elements of the Marvel Universe and he’s definitely the villain from hell.”

At some point along the way, we do hope that SHIELD manages to change their mind about Robbie, mostly because we have a hard time believing that he is out for destruction in the way in which they imagine him to be. The issue is that it could take a little bit of time in order to properly figure this out. We don’t get the sense that Robbie is the sort of guy who is going to be spending a ton of time welcoming other characters to get to know him over a pot of coffee.
