‘The Fall’ season 3: Jamie Dornan – Gillian Anderson series lands premiere date

For all fans of “The Fall,” be prepared to commence a celebration: BBC Two has finally confirmed when you’ll get a chance to see Stella Gibson and Paul Spector back on television.

The third and presumably final season of the series will be starting off on Thursday, September 29, and will be airing on the aforementioned network at 9:00 p.m. London time. While we understand the series airs in Ireland and elsewhere, the BBC airings are the ones that we’re going to be looking at primarily here.

As for what you can expect, the network was kind enough to state the following in a press release:

“Gillian Anderson returns as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson in The Fall. She has arrested Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan) – but will he survive the gunshot wounds sustained in police custody? Will he ever face justice?

“Spector is rushed to Belfast General Hospital where Dr Joe O’Donnell (Richard Coyle), Nurse Kiera Sheridan (Aisling Bea) and the staff engage in the blood-soaked fight to keep him alive.

:News of Spector’s arrest and life-threatening injuries reach Katie and she plots to help him. With the powers-that-be questioning Gibson’s handling of the case, her determination to get a conviction is tested to the full.”

For this season, let’s just say the central struggle could be the same as it has been for so many others before: Finding a way to keep the drama there, while at the same time also making things realistic. The truth is, Spector’s done a lot of terrible stuff. The longer he stays either alive or out of prison, the worse it makes Gibson look — even if he is shrewd and calculating.
