‘After Paradise’ finale: Jen Saviano appears; Nick Viall – ‘Bachelor’ gig not discussed

After ParadiseTonight, the “Bachelor in Paradise” aftershow “After Paradise” had a real opportunity to dive into precisely what happened with Jen Saviano and Nick Viall before they took his gig as “The Bachelor,” and we certainly feel like it could have been juicy. While we’re not sure all of the rumors about her dumping her to go on the show are true, many indications were that the two of them were at least still talking in the days that followed the season.

Over the course of this episode, there was a potential opportunity for all parties involved to really get into the meat of precisely what happened. However, what we really had instead here was a clear attempt to try to skirt the subject as much as they could. They never gave her a substantial amount of time to talk on the subject, and we’re not sure any questions were ultimately answered by the end of this.

In the end, the network obviously doesn’t want to get too much into this because they don’t want Nick to be perceived negatively as he prepares to go off on his own romantic journey, and we definitely understand that from the vantage point of delivering the best product and narrative that they want.

With that said, why in the world do you have Jen on “After Paradise” if you’re not planning to discuss it? What we saw here ultimately just felt inauthentic and extremely frustrating at the same time. Now, we figure it won’t be brought up on TV ever again.
