‘The X Factor’ UK video: Janet Grogan returns, performs Zayn’s ‘Pillowtalk’

Returning contestants seems to be one of the themes of “The X Factor” this season, and we’re more than fine with that. After all, there are a ton of really good people who don’t get put through, and a lot of times it’s because they are missing a dimension or two that they are able to work on. For those of you “where is the new talent?” cynics out there, look at it this way: How many people go into record-deal auditions in the real world and nail it the first time? Putting in the work sometimes is necessary.

In the video below, you can see the return of none other than Janet Grogan to the series after a two-year absence. She previously made it to Simon Cowell’s Six-Chair Challenge back in 2014, and Cowell later said that eliminating her was a “mistake.” Now, she’s back to show she still has it and then some!

First things first, we love the song choice here in Zayn’s “Pillowtalk.” It’s one of the best songs we’ve heard in the past year or so, and it’s a really good audition song since there are a lot of different levels and places you can take it. Granted, this also isn’t a song we want to see everyone sing, given the subject matter’s not exactly for the faint of heart!

After listening this, it feels pretty assured that Janet will at least make it as far as she did the first time. If she doesn’t, we’re going to start to question if something is painfully wrong with the universe.
