‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: The challenges that come with Dr. Alchemy, Savitar

Flash -

You will be waiting until October to see the third season of “The Flash” premiere, and with that, be prepared to expect many a challenge for Barry Allen and company. It’s just going to be a different challenge than season 2, one that will be somewhat fun without having to be as dark or moody as what we saw beforehand with Zoom. Dr. Alchemy and Savitar will serve as the big bads, and while we’re not entirely sure that they are completely working in tandem per se, they will have a relationship that leads to some sort of link.

For a little more on what that link could be, just take a look at what executive producer Todd Helbing told TVLine on the story:

“[We’re] trying to have the powers that they both possess play off of each other … It’s not just, ‘Oh, I have to catch this guy and take him down.’ It’s like, ‘Crap, now there’s this other guy, Dr. Alchemy,’ who has these transmutation qualities [via] this Philosopher’s Stone. You start to learn what he does with this stuff and how the both of them are coexisting.”

Helbing compares the strategy necessary to take these guys down to “flanking,” and that does make some sense given that you’ve got to move yourself around on the chessboard, and then also await the move of your opponent. In the end, we anticipate this being fun, and based on what we’ve heard, a little more in line to the tone of the first season where there was still lightness even in the midst of some brutal battles.
