‘The Fall’ season 3: Could Jamie Dornan – Gillian Anderson series have a new trailer soon?

The Fall -Finding news on “The Fall” as of late has been akin to finding news on the City of Atlantis: It just doesn’t seem to be out there. Heck, there are times when you even wonder if it is fictional and never existed in the first place.

Almost two years have now passed since the gem-of-a-series starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan last aired, and it was months ago that filming wrapped. All the BBC has confirmed to date is that season 3 will premiere in “autumn,” but didn’t exactly offer up a firm timetable beyond that.

Is it time for a trailer? That is what we wonder at present. There was a short teaser revealed last year, but that was prior to much of filming and served mostly as a reminder that the third and final season, unlike Atlantis, would be coming to fruition eventually. Now would be a perfect time to start the promotional campaign outright, at least if similar patterns were emulated to the second season. For that batch of episodes, a trailer was released in July prior to the premiere in November. Sure, that may be rather early for a trailer within the super-secretive world of British television, which often feels like MI-6 in terms of how often they decline to announce things until the first last minute.

Still, it’s now August. Autumn is almost here, and other than some promotional photos last month, nary a word has been spoken. Do we envision news soon? Certainly, but with “Victoria,” “Poldark,” and “The X Factor” all coming over the next month or so, it’s starting to get a little competitive. It might be time to get the world out there.

Given how much we love this series, rest assured that we’ll continue to pound the pavement for more news. If you want to keep up-to-date with everything we cover at CarterMatt, be sure to sign up right now for our official newsletter. (Photo: BBC.)
